New World Wines: South Africa
Bain's Way
Bain's Way Sauvignon Blanc: Quintessential gooseberry and succulent spanspek aromas precede a palate of vivacious and lingering tropical fruit flavours.
Bain's Way Chenin Blanc: Classic Chenin Blanc aromas of ripe guava and melon, infused with delicate spice. Zingy tropical fruit and crisp acidity make for a lovely and lasting palate. An excellent match with chicken and white meats and wonderfully refreshing on its own.
Bain's Way Chardonnay: Yellow peach aromas on the nose transpire into delicate but bright tropical fruit flavours on the palate. An easy-drinking yet elegant Chardonnay in a modern style.
Bain's Way Shiraz/Mourvèdre: The Bain's Way Shiraz Mourvèdre 2005 is a quintessentially contemporary New World wine. It is versatile and unpretentious, yet sturdy, complex and satisfying. The wine will especially complement meats like roast duck, lamb, venison, oxtail and other hearty stews, and tomato-based pastas.
Bain's Way Shiraz: Warm and inviting nutty aromas are nuanced with wood smoke and spice. A palate of ripe red berry fruit complemented by silky tannins. Aged in second and third fill oak barrels for 9 to 12 months.
Bain's Way Cabernet Sauvignon: Aromas of nuts and pure cassis lead to a textured palate and lingering berry fruit flavours. A graceful wine with the power to accompany red meat dishes.
Bain's Way Merlot: A nose of delicious ripe cherries and a hint of oak transcends onto the palate, culminating in plummy flavours and a trace of chocolate
Bain's Way Pinotage: Rich, banana and sun-ripe plum notes, lead to a ripe fruit laden palate with soft tannins and long fruity finish.

Named as one of Wine Magazine's best value whites in South Africa About the Wellington Region: The Wellington ward is acknowledged as one
of South Africa’s up and coming areas of origin as the country explores and
communicates its fascinating diversity of soils and locations and its ever-more
intriguing regionality. Wellington terroir stretches west of the
renowned Paarl appellation towards the Swartland’s wheatfields – the latter
being another promising new kid on South Africa’s block of wine-growing regions.
Warm days during ripening and harvesting precede cool nights ('generally cooler
than at the coast some 60km away' – ASPECT by Wines of South Africa) and medium
potential soils derived from granite and Table Mountain sandstone ensure our
vineyards are naturally balanced. “The ward of Wellington has shed its Sleep Hollow image with some promising wines….Recognised for Shiraz and gutsy red blends generally.” - The John Platter South African Wine Guide 2004 Behind The Bain's Way Name: Produced as a tribute to Andrew Bain. Mr. Bain is immortalized in Wellington especially as the creator of ‘The Gateway to the North’ through Bainskloof Pass, the very slopes of which nurture the vineyards from which Bain’s Way wines are produced. The Bain’s Way range consists of fruit-driven wines - well rounded and distinctly South African – at unmatched value for money. The range includes an oak-aged Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinotage as well as a Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc and Viognier.
